Depp Soil Mixing improvement
What is "Deep Soil Mixing column"?
The Deep Soil Mixing column is a structural element created through the Deep Soil Mixing technique, a ground improvement solution. There are two main methods for implementing DSM columns: the "wet method" and the "dry method".
Where to use "Deep Soil Mixing columns"?
Deep Soil Mixing columns are used in a fairly wide range of solutions to geotechnical problems:
- reducing the compressibility and stabilization loose or liquefiable soils
- increasing the bearing capacity and stability of soils;
- ground improvement below the groundwater level;
- block ground water.
The process of "Deep Soil Mixing column" formation
To create DSM column, "FUNDAMENTBUD-3" LTD uses Deep Soil mixing technique (wet method).
A special drilling tool, the diameter of which is determined by the project, breaks the soil in the mixing zones to the design depth. without removing disturbed soil. At the same time, under low pressure, the binder slurry is injected and thoroughly mixed with the disturbed soil.
The result is a strong monolithic column with high water impermeability formed in the soil. The characteristics of such an column are calculated at the stage of design decisions and depend on the usage purposes.
"FUNDAMENTBUD-3" LTD widely uses DSM columns to solve a wide range of problems:
- strengthening of foundations (existing and under construction);
- protection of pit sides;
- installation of anti-filtration curtains;
- slope stabilization
- protection of existing buildings and structures from the construction impact.
